Camellias
The Camellia (Camellia) are a genus of the family Theaceae (Theaceae). The original name by Linnaeus in honor of Father George Joseph Camel, the C. japonica brought to Manila from Spain.

Description
Camellias are evergreen trees or shrubs. The alternate and spirally arranged on the branches, leaves are leathery and easily. Usually a leaf stalk is present, the margin is usually serrate, rarely smooth, stipules.

The hermaphroditic flowers are single or a maximum of three in the leaf axils. Flower stalks are of medium or missing. Distribution
The genus is restricted to eastern Asia and spread to Indomalesien. Center of biodiversity is southern China.
